Theming the Focus Ring in Clearlooks: Call for Mockups! 10 November, 2007
I’m sorry for the italian community but I’m writing this post in english as I’m trying to get the widest possible feedback.
What?
In the last few days I’ve added the ability to theme the focus ring in the Clearlooks GTK Engine: normally the “focus ring” is the *dotted ring* you can see pressing the TAB key and moving between controls/widgets. That’s what we want to theme now
Mockups!
I don’t want to post my screenshot here, but I’d like to receive YOUR mockups.
Please link below in the comments, in an ordered way, your Gimp-shots. I will take them into account, certainly.
The highest priority is for buttons and tabs/notebook.
Please use the Clearlooks theme as a base for your mockup.
Spread the Voice, Pingback Me!
If you have a blog and you’re interested in helping me finding an idea (I’m really in trouble this time as I haven’t got so many ideas…) please add a link/pingback/traceback so other people can read this post and *I hope* to send their mockups.
Keep Comments Ordered and Clean!
this post IS NOT A CHAT, and thanks to everybody who will contribute

Here you are two QUICK proposals based only on shades, ’cause I gotta work.

When I have time I’ll do something less conservative

The first one can’t be done because I can only use 1px of offset around the border.

Scusa ma non so l’inglese e non ho mai fatto un tema. Ma non si può togliere il bordo e con ombreggiatura far sembrare in rilievo il pulsante, a mo di collinetta?
I guess we could remove the border and place a nice shadow below, to give a 3d effect…
11 November, 2007 alle 13:13
But clearlooks already has a shadow… do you mean like clarkkent’s first screenshot? http://tinyurl.com/2d5u7w

i like the second one between clarkkent’s proposals
11 November, 2007 alle 16:33
Ok, I’ll try my English. As I said, i’ve never create a theme, so I’ve kept the second clarkkent’s proposal (that I like) and I’ve modificated it with Gimp (so the image is not very clear…imagine)

As I said, I’d like that the 3D effect of the botton is made only with the shadow.
Probably it’s a stupid idea, but I like it

Hmmm, Cimi, I think the newest SVN focus ring is great, but when tab is focused, it looks strange, but when draging element into listview element, or when new element in Nautilus shows itself… It looks neat
