Flat Menubars and Toolbars for Murrine RGBA (ugly hack :D) 1 April, 2008

I’ve added an ugly hack :D to support GtkMenubar’s shadow-none also for menubar in RGBA mode

The ugly code is in the gedit window… yeah you might want to kill me! :D

Ugly code aside, that combination look utterly delicious.

zomg, ugly hack in murrine? is this an april fool ?

No april fool, there’s no other sane way to do this in GTK without adding a lot more code

I wasn’t a fan of making all the applications transparent until I saw this screenshot.

Ok, sorry, but how can I get windows like the ones I see in your screenshot? I’m talking about the transparencies… Should I wait for Murrine RGBA to be released?

    @Daniele:
Yes, the code is in svn, but I will release when the RGBA gtk patch will arrive

Hey cimi, what’s the font you are using? I’m trying to get a look like that for my desktop… Bitstream is too squared!

    Wow it is nice.

Does the RGBA gtk patch will be in gnome 2.24 ?

    Hi Cimi!

    Whats your font?

    Fonts look like Dejavu-sans-condensed

Reading the bug in gtk I had understand that they don’t plan to do a patch. Is it true or false ?

And it still can’t find « flat » effect in your themes. Is there a svn for them too ?

    Font is Droid

May I know which is the gtk and theme you are using? I like it. Can you give me a link to download it?
Of course I don’t mind transparencies or flat toolbars. I will wait for them, but in the mean time might I have the rest of the theme?
    Thank you

    Cimi,

Whats the gtk and emerald theme you used?

Is there a repo where anon’s can download the latest release?I’d like to check the RGBA stuff out - I’m guessing I need to apply the patches from the RGBA section of the site and recompile any apps that I want updated.

I have some interest in this stuff. A few ideas I want to explore are things like translucent titlebars and scrollbars, among other widgets.

Completely out of curiosity, is cairo \ gtk \ or whoever it may concern, capable of blending modes such as ‘color dodge’ (I think it’s also known as ‘additive’ something or other). Some combination of translucent svg graphics with different blending modes would allow for extremely slick interfaces.
