Some suggestions for the Wallpaper Contest 19 April, 2008
Yeah we got some good abstract wallpapers, but sadly we can’t say the same for the nature ones (except for one or two…) 
Not because the pictures were not good, but because a nice photo is generally not suitable as a wallpaper!
As said: please follow the quality guidelines. Expecially “Soft focus” and “No strong focal points”.
Also, we are thinking about the ending date, maybe in May or the first days of June, since Thomas (thos) needs more time for the translations! (so go and submit your walls!)

I don’t see why a nice photo isn’t suitable as a wallpaper, other OS’s come with many excellent photos that make nice wallpapers.

This is why I haven’t submitted anything - the guidelines (perfectly sensible as they are) are completely at odds with producing a nice picture. “Soft focus” and “no strong focal points” are practically a recipe for a bad photograph. So anyone who wants to submit an image will likely have to go out and shoot some pictures specifically for this particular submission, which will limit the number of submissions quite a lot, of course.

Cimi: Exactly. But what most people with cameras are trying to create is good photos. So, for a competition like this, most people just don’t have anything to submit.

Cimi means that he wants good photos that allows windows to me more focused (soft focus does not mean blur)

We prefer your first submission, since its background is colored and not pure black.
We can’t use the flowers you submitted, even if they are good pictures, because of its *deeep black* background behind
