More Murrine Mockups/Glazestyles 4 October, 2008

In the last few days I’ve rewritten the drawing code for the second time since the last stable release (0.53.1), now the code is much more modular and permits easy additions/tweaks in the widgets appearance.

Adding a glaze style like this requires less than 20 lines of code for ALL the widgets and both RGB and RGBA mode!

This means that mockups are really appreciated.

Of course please donate if you want to help me in the development, for more/faster features ;)

    Wow! Great one Cimi, refactoring is always nice.

    Borders and glaze are looking great in this, I’m going to checkout and play with it.

    Hi Cimi. First of all, thanks for all your work. I was wondering if you have ever seen the mock-ups by Neil Patel (from avant-window-navigator):

    IMO they look very good. I was wondering if something like this is possible with current Murrine, or if you were interested in making it possible.

    Glaze style 5 is really awesome.

    I had trouble getting my theme to work though, ‘cos I had a really old revision from before you changed “style” to “profile”. I fixed it, of course. :P

    I don’t know if it’s this revision or a previous or whatever, but there are now white borders around the search bar and address bar in firefox. They go away if I move my mouse over them, but there’s still a little white line to the right of the search bar.

    Thanks for this great engine! I’ll be sure to update more often from now on. I’ll also look at entering the theme contest. :D

    @7:
    Try with firefox-nightly or wait Intrepid, you will finally see rounded entry inside the web pages!

    Cimi:
    Unfortunately, the nightlies don’t fix this problem. I’ll just wait for intrepid.

    @9:
    yes they fix, you’ve done something wrong

    Sorry for double posting, but I’ve also noticed that the input boxes are only rounded if they’re on white backgrounds. They have white borders instead of the normal gray borders. And if you mouse over them, they revert to having gray borders.

    @11:
    As said, use firefox-nightly

    What’s the best way to install the nightly build?

  14. Cimi said:

    Ops, I forgot that you need this in your gtkrc with firefox-nightly
    GtkEntry::honors-transparent-bg-hint = 1

    I thought this mockup wasn’t going to be implemented at all :) Thanks a lot! It’s also interesting how no one ever tried radial gradients before…

    Still, the picture above is my mockup, can you show a actual working screenshot of “glaze 5″ ?

    your mockup maybe will be implemented, unfortunately I’m not at home during the weeks…
